Push Stick Challenge
Objective:
To get you thinking about safe use of machinery, Let you use the machinery to make your push sticks and let you explore and experiment with some design and layout techniques.
Assignment:
Choose a machine you wish to design a push stick for. Observe how the machine operates and assess how a push stick would make operating it safer. Design a push stick and sketch it on paper. Have sketch approved by the teacher and proceed to make a detailed full scale drawing on paper (tape 2 sheets together if more space is needed). Cut out template (scale drawing) and trace it onto a piece of scrap wood. As you proceed to the machine your project the teacher will observe your machine skills and approve (sign you off) you to use the machine. DO NOT OPERATE ANY PIECE OF EQUIPMENT WITHOUT BEING SIGNED OFF.
